To mark our 10th anniversary, we headed to Playback in Inverness for an afternoon of food, drinks, and some surprisingly competitive axe throwing.
There’s no better way to celebrate a decade in business than by handing the team some sharp objects and letting them loose! It turns out that 10 years in the industry builds up a fair bit of “throwing power.” The energy was high, the target boards took a beating, and the team spirit was (pun intended) at its sharpest.
Watching from a (very) safe distance, Founders Chris and Ed had this to say about the team’s lethal accuracy:
“The team had an incredible time, though seeing the sheer ‘fury’ behind some of those throws has definitely made us rethink how we handle the next round of performance reviews. We didn’t ask exactly who or what they were visualising on that wooden board, but let’s just say we’re planning to stay on everyone’s good side for the foreseeable future!”
A Cut Above the Rest
Of course, it wasn’t all about the competition. Between games, we refuelled with some amazing food and drinks, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere that Playback is known for.
This social was particularly special. Ten years is a massive milestone for us, and spending it laughing (and dodging Sophie’s power-throws) reminded us why the last decade has been so enjoyable: our people.
It was the perfect blend of great company, great food, and just the right amount of “axe-hilaration.” Here’s to the next ten years!
